Car ballast principle
The working principle of the HID ballast is that after the power is turned on, the low-voltage power supply is raised to a high-voltage pulse voltage of more than 20,000 volts in an instant through the transformer, and the helium gas in the xenon bulb is activated to generate a strong light of 3000-12000K color temperature in the arc. The color is in the white diamond with a hint of purple blue. The high-pressure gas discharge lamp is mainly composed of a HID bulb, a ballast, a power adapter line and its accessories. The lamp of the HID bulb is filled with various chemical gases, most of which are inert gases such as xenon and iodide. . At the moment of power-on, the ballast boosts the 12V voltage on the car to 23000V, which strongly excites xenon to produce strong light between the two poles, quickly reaching high brightness and remaining stable.
There is no filament in the xenon lamp, so there is no problem of scrapping due to the broken filament. The service life is much longer than that of the halogen lamp. The service life of the xenon lamp is equivalent to the total running time of the average life cycle of the car. Once the xenon lamp fails, it will not be extinguished instantly, but will be extinguished by gradually darkening, so that the driver can win time in the night driving and emergency stop.
